Threading is an ancient art of hair removal still used in many Eastern countries today. In the U.S., threading has become more popular for the removal of facial hair. The technique results in clean lines and in the case of eyebrows, an excellent shape. It works by using 100 percent cotton thread that is twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin, entwining the hair in the thread and lifting it out of the follicle. Unlike traditional waxing, the hair is pulled directly from the root, preventing ingrown hairs. Additionally, threading causes little redness or soreness when compared to waxing. Since threading does not remove layers of the skin, the technique is ideal for people with sensitive skin or those who use anti aging or acne products as well as for people with mature skin. Threading is performed on the eyebrows, lip, chin, sideburns and neck and full face as well. Threading prevents the skin from sagging and losing its elasticity, unlike waxing. With threading skin stays firm. Threading is also the best way to remove facial hair for people who use anti aging and acne products on their skin.

Sugaring is an ancient method of hair removal dating back to the Egyptians. Relatively new to the US, it is still very popular in Arab countries. It is an alternative for those with sensitive skin or who react to waxing with bumps and redness. The sugaring solution is water soluble, so it is easily removed with water. The original basic recipe is a mixture of sugar, lemon juice and water. It is heated to form a syrup, which is molded into a ball and pressed onto the skin, then quickly stripped away. It becomes an all natural, cold application, without dyes, perfumes or chemicals. It removes unwanted body hair without ripping the first layer of skin like waxing; with the least discomfort and most effective results. Not intended for the face or eyebrow area, sugaring is a less abrasive method of hair removal.
